e.proof.event.chain.f

A key event's prior digest doesn't match the event it claims to follow, so the chain breaks.

Retrying the same thing changes nothing.

What a response says

The event at sequence number {sn} names a prior event that isn't the one before it, so the key history doesn't chain.

The placeholders are filled from sn, which travel positionally in the args member of the response.

What to do

Unlike a missing predecessor, this one is decided against events already in hand: no later arrival repairs it.

Where it sits

Sorter e — Error. The problem clearly defeats someone's intentions.
Obstacle e.proof. — Supplied material fails verification against a reference
Disposition f — Final. Retrying the same thing changes nothing.

A handler can match this code exactly, or by any prefix above it: e.proof., e.proof.event., e.proof.event.chain..
