The placeholders are filled from cause, which travel positionally in the args member of the response.

What to do

The courier moves the artifacts the ceremony verbs produce, unchanged, and checks only that bytes are a message — what they mean is the ceremony's to judge, exactly as it is for bytes carried by hand.
